Seek God First

Seek God First “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 So often we struggle daily with our troubles and trials, not knowing where to turn and what decisions to make in our lives. We face our problems with the thought that we can make the right decisions, and have the wisdom to know how to deal with them in the best way. We try to do it by ourselves, and with our own strength and knowledge. So many times however, we make the wrong decisions and struggle with the aftermaths, that often leads to bigger problems, and more troubles than we started with. This is usually the time that we seek God to help us, as it is often when we don’t know where to turn, that we turn to the only one that is able to help us. We wait until all our efforts are exhausted, until all our strength is gone, and then we finally realize that the answer to many of our problems and difficulties were right there in front of us all the time. We just did not ask. So often when things are going good in our lives we do not have the time to seek God and thank Him for the good times. God tells us throughout the Bible that we need to give thanks in the good times as well as the bad times. In the scripture above He tells us that we need to first seek His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to us as well. Our lives would be more pleasant and peaceful if we would follow this wisdom, as many of our worries and cares would disappear, as we would know how to deal with life’s struggles if we would seek His kingdom and His wisdom. Our lives would be different, and our minds would be filled with God’s knowledge and understanding, as we would be focused on doing things that would be pleasing to God. He tells us in scriptures throughout the Bible that He blesses the righteous, and that they will prosper when we make Him first in all we do. Robert W.
