Give Thanks To God Daily “Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5:20 Do you sing and make music in your heart daily to the Lord? This is such an inspiring scripture that all of us should aspire to do each day. How often do we really give God thanks for all that He has done in our lives? I mean really taking the time to look up into the face of Jesus, and with grateful hearts of praise, offer sincere thanks to Him. I think we can all honestly say not often enough. Most people only go to God when they are having troubles in their lives, and need help to solve their problems. This is good, but we need to go to God each morning even when things seem rosy for us, and thank Him for blessing us. We live in a nation that so far God has blessed, as most of us have material possessions that far outweigh what our ancestors had. God has blessed us with many things, and when we wake up in the morning we should thank God for all our blessings. He should be first on our thoughts and our minds each day, and our lives should be focused on doing His will during the hours ahead. The scripture above says to give thanks for all things, even the small things that we often take for granted, as God has provided them to us. I believe that a thankful heart is something that will get God’s attention, more than anything we could do each day, but it needs to be a heart that is filled with, faith, gratitude, and sincerity and really come from within us, and show God that we really are thankful. We need to learn to offer thanks to God with a grateful heart, regardless of what we are going through. I would encourage each of you to begin your day with a “Prayer of Thanksgiving” to God.
