Others Are Watching

Others Are Watching "Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." Ephesians 6:4 The bible clearly tells us that our children are to honor us and obey us, but we as parents are to nurture them in the admonition of the Lord, and not mislead or provoke them to wrath. We are to teach them in the ways of the Lord, and teach them that all their actions will affect their own lives, and also the lives of all that are exposed to them. The pain of bad actions always hurts more than we intended. We as Christians must seek Spiritual answers in all that we do. We are never to compromise and conform to the world's way of doing things, but rely on God's ways. We will be held accountability for teaching them right from wrong, and will have to face God one day and be judged as to how effective we have been. This is also true as to the effect we have on others in our lives. If a person is strong in the faith then they are responsible for making sure that they build others up, lift them and guide them in the ways of the Lord. When you know someone has not accepted Jesus as their savior, they are still His spiritual children, and if you as a mature Christian cause them to fall you will be held accountable. The bible teaches us that it is dangerous to cause one of His little ones to fall, Mark 9-42, "And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea." God is serious about how we live in front of our children, grandchildren and others even after they are grown. Just because you may be grown in physical stature, and have been a Christian for a long time, does not always mean that you are mature in faith. But if you are, then you need to be careful of your actions and words, as others are watching what you say and do, Let your reactions be Godly because your actions were. Robert W.
