Let God Speak To You

Let God Speak To You "The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints." Colossians 1:26 I can remember our first television set when I was about 15 years old. The family would gather around the screen, which was so snowy that the faces of the people could hardly be recognized. It was, however, a very exciting time for us, knowing that somewhere out there, was a world that we could now experience, and be a part of. We knew that these people existed, because we could see them on this small screen, as they were talking to us. This memory of this memorable time, reminds me that God is also trying to contact us, and talk to us. He wants to speak to us, and tell us that He cares for us, and that He loves us. The problem in Him communicating with us, is not with Him, but is with us. He is continually talking to us in gentle whispers all throughout our lives. He is constantly bringing people into our lives, who can tell us about the message of His Holy word. In our society today, the name of God is always before us, as there is almost a church on every street corner. It is not God that keeps us from turning our life over to Him, but it is our stubbornness and selfishness that keeps us from talking to Him. There is no reason for our nation to not know God, as He has revealed Himself to us. He has revealed Himself in the world He created. He has revealed Himself in His written Word, the Bible. Centuries ago He spoke to the prophets and the apostles, and by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, they wrote His Word for us. God is trying desperately to reach you, and to save you, and give you an eternal life in Heaven, but you must "tune in" and listen to Him.
