Make God Your Obsession “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.” Colossians 3:23 In the hustle and bustle of today’s modern world people are hurrying and rushing from place to place, involved in all kinds of activities, but hardly taking the time to devote themselves to any one thing. We have too many things going all at once, and do not take the time to devote ourselves to doing any of them completely and as capable as we could. I believe that we will never have significant success with anything until it becomes an obsession with us. An obsession is when something consumes your thoughts and time Jesus also had a passion for his mission and goal in life. Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” Jesus focused on doing the exact instructions of His Heavenly Father. He healed the sick, He listened to all the people who sought His advice, He helped the needy, He came to make people successful, to restore and repair their life to the full fellowship with His Father. Jesus was so obsessed with the salvation of all mankind, that He gave His life on the cross for us. We all need to become obsessed with and have a passion for the things we do. We can start small, and start with little thoughts, little projects, and small dreams, but when we put our thoughts and devote all our efforts to these little things, we can see them grow into bigger and better things. We all need to find something to do that we will be passionate about and will become an obsession with us. We need to find something that is worthy of building our life around that God would want us to do, and then become obsessed and passionate about it. When we devote our time and our talents to these things God will let them grow abundantly, and we will be doing His will.
