Confess Your Sins
Confess Your Sins
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness".
1 John 1:9
Throughout the years I have written many devotionals that are rather strong and pointed. My devotionals are read by different types of people and to find a common thread to reach them is difficult at times. Every member of the body of Christ is in a different place. Some have known the Lord for a month, some 5 years, some 10 or some maybe 90 years. We are all in different places, going through different seasons. Some have had seasons of great growth, some have gone through fiery trials, some have experienced valleys where they cannot seem to find God anywhere. No one can honestly know the season where anyone else is in, therefore we must always walk in love and rely on the Holy Spirit to direct us. What might appeal to someone that has just recently given their heart to Jesus, and is still learning, may sound boring and lifeless to a seasoned Christian that has known Jesus their entire life. But there is one common thread that bonds all people together, and that is that we all must have accepted the gift of salvation and have asked Jesus into our hearts. Whether you are Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, Catholic, or any other denomination, if you are truly a believer in Jesus Christ then you need to be refocusing your sights on being totally submitted to Jesus as His disciple. All of us have areas of weakness, that we need to work on. To pretend we don't is a lie and offends God. We need to be willing to say honestly "Dear God, show me what You see in me and in my life. Show me where I am flirting with sin and anything that offends You". When you pray this, in honesty and humility, God will honor you and start to speak to you. When He does speak to you through conviction be quick to repent, 1 John 1:9.
