Stand Up For God

Stand Up For God

"Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourself also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin."
1st Peter 4:1

In today's society, as well as throughout history, people have suffered because of sinful lifestyles and values that have led them to Hell. Suffering in this life, is to be expected, as people suffer with health, financial issues, job issues, relationship issues and a vast array of other things. We only have to turn on our televisions to see people who are suffering, or to look in our own towns and neighborhoods. Often times we think about suffering being someone that is hungry, without shelter, or having a terrible health problem. However, there is another type of suffering, and that is the suffering we endure by living in an evil and sin infested world. The temptations imposed by the lifestyles of people, the lack of Christian values, and the overall morality of our generation, creates the suffering that God is most alarmed and concerned about. The Bible talks about the suffering we do for the Lord, and says that we should count it as joy to suffer for Him. There is not any suffering that you can ever do that will compare to the suffering He did in paying for your sins. There are many people throughout the world that are suffering today, to be called a follower of Jesus. There are many people who call suffering because they have to get up on Sunday to go to church, or go to the local food bank to distribute food. The Bible warns us that there will come a day where we will have to stand up and be counted, as a follower of Christ, as in the last days there will be great persecution. These times will separate the real Christians from the world. This life is about being faithful to God, even unto death. Stand up for God in all that you do.
