Are You A Conqueror
"In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."
Romans 8:37
Do you feel like a conqueror each day, or do you feel defeated by the world? This is an important question to ask yourself, as if you feel like the world has gotten the best of you, let me assure you that you are not where God wants you to be. In the scripture above God is telling you that you need to be victorious in all that you do. If you have truly asked Jesus to be your savior, you have the Holy Spirit to guide you and resist all the temptations that Satan sends your way. I love the old song Onward Christian Soldiers marching as to war, as we are in a war each day with Satan, as he is constantly mounting an attack against us. His attacks can be furious, and can leave us with a defeated attitude. We are no good as ambassadors to God, if we go out into the world each day with a feeling that the world has gotten the best of us. You need to realize that God wants you to go out each day, with a smile on your face, showing others that you meet, that you have a God that has your back, and one that will let you defeat all the fiery arrows that Satan is sending against you. God wants us to live victorious lives---lives that are constantly conquering sin. There is only one way to have victory over sin, and that is to walk so closely with Christ, that sin does not dominate your life. The reason that having God by your side, is that the closer you walk with God, the farther you are from Satan. The Bible tells us "Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." James 4:7-8. If you want to be a conqueror, pray, read your Bible and draw closer to God. Ask yourself this question, "is the devil farther away from you today than he was last week? If not, why?
