A Joy Filled Life
A Joy Filled Life
"Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."
2nd Timothy 2:19
Let me ask you a simple question this morning. Have you ever been afraid to give yourself totally to the Lord because you think you might be deprived of some pleasure in this life? Chances are, you have, and if you have, you are living a life of sin, and enjoying what you are doing, and don't want to give up your pleasures and the joy it brings you. The reason you don't want to change is that Satan is working overtime, and convincing you that you need these pleasures to be happy. Let me be the first to tell you that you don’t need these pleasures to have a happy and joy filled life. The real truth is, yielding completely to the Lord won’t cost you anything that’s worth having. Leaving your life of sin, and following the one that God wants you to follow will only cause you to live life to its fullest. Jesus’ life on earth was a perfect example of a totally yielded life. He was a walking example of the benefits godly living brings. Everywhere He went, Jesus made the deaf to hear, the blind to see, the lame to walk. He lived in perfect peace and absolute victory until He laid down His life giving you an opportunity to have an eternal life in Heaven. Do you think you would miss out on a lot if you lived that way? Of course not. You can walk in that same anointing and power and glory of God that Jesus did. Do you have to give up your whole life to do it? Yes! You have to trade your life of following Satan, for the life of God. You have to follow God's plan and His paths for your life, which will lead to a home in Heaven, instead of following the paths of Satan, which will lead to an eternity spent in Hell. You have to trade your sickness for His healing, your poverty for His prosperity, your anxiety for His peace, your sin for His salvation. So why hesitate, choose a joy filled life with Jesus.
