Don't Be Troubled
Don't Be Troubled
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.”
John 14:1
Each day I receive dozens of e-mails from people asking me how to deal with the troubles in their lives? I believe the answer to these questions is found in one word “encouragement”. When Jesus was comforting his disciples the night before his crucifixion, he was giving words of encouragement to them. As we know, all but one of the disciples eventually found courage and comfort to face life and fulfill the call of God. Facing life’s problems with courage, strength and an assurance that God is with us, is what Jesus wants all of us to do. We do not have to cower down to our trials and troubles, instead, we are to arise and shine in the midst of these dark times by the power of God. An example of how we are to deal with troubles can be seen by looking at the life of David. David returned from battle and discovered that the enemy had attacked his camp. They had taken all their goods, and kidnapped all the wives and children. His own men talked about stoning him because of what had happened. David faced his troubles by first encouraging himself in the Lord. David’s men blamed David for their problem, but David stopped feeling sorry for himself, and turned to the Lord for help and encouragement. In the same way God is also able to carry us through any problem and crisis we will face, and when we seek Him, He will be there for us to help encourage us as well. Where ever we look there is trouble and perilous days ahead, and the Bible warns us that we will have trouble, but it also tells us to not be troubled, but trust in God and also in Him. If you are dealing with problems today, God is there to give you encouragement, and help you through your trials. Always remember that nothing is impossible with God.
