Don't Worry God Provides
Don't Worry God Provides
“And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
Luke 12:29-31
So many people go through life worrying about where they are going to get their next paycheck, what they are going to eat, what clothes to buy, why their relationships are going bad and many other things that occupy their thoughts. Jesus tells us in the scripture above that we should not spend our time worrying about these things, but should spend it seeking the spiritual benefits of the kingdom, rather than the material goods of the world. Jesus warns us of the dangers of always having our thoughts on acquiring riches and material goods throughout the Bible, and tells us that when we have our minds on these things we cannot expect him to bless us fully. Worry can cause high blood pressure, mental health problems and produce stress levels that can cause many people to become dysfunctional. One of the biggest problems in our society today is created by the desire of families to want to produce wealth. When our quest for wealth begins to possess our every thoughts, this becomes our God. God warns us that we can have no God other than him, and that the pursuit of money and material possessions can destroy us. God’s plan for us is to keep our thoughts and minds centered on him, instead of the things of this world, and tells us that he will provide our needs. When we have faith and trust in God to watch over us and depend upon him to provide us with our needs, we will not have worry and stress. We may not have the biggest house or biggest car, but our lives will be worry and stress free. God will provide everything we need when we trust in him.
