God Hears And Answers

God Hears And Answers "He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him." Psalm 91:15 The other day, one of my missionary friends sent me a story about a poor African woman they had ministered to, who went out into the nearby jungle to try to find food for her family. Her baby was tied to her back, and her little son walked beside her. Just as they reached the top of a small hill, she heard a roar. Frightened, she turned and saw a mother lion running directly at her, with her cubs following behind her. The illiterate woman had never attended school or church, but my friends had just shared Jesus with her, and told her that He would always help you when you are in trouble. As the lion was almost ready to pounce on her, she cried out in the loudest voice she could, "O Jesus help us!" The lion instantly stopped in her tracks and turned and ran away, scared away by the frightened mother's screams. This story reminded me that when true "beasts" such as doubts, fears, worry, loneliness, depression or despair are attacking, and you don't know where to turn, you can turn to God who will also drive these beasts away. Chances are that you will never be attacked by a lion, but you will be attacked by many other trials and struggles in this life. When you find yourself down in these valleys and don't see anything but the sides of the mountains, you can always cry out to God who will hear your cries and come to your rescue. He can drive away your fears and give you peace even during the worst storms. Cry out to Jesus and He will answer you just as surely as he answered the African mother's desperate cry. He will hear your cry and will lead and guide you to victory over any situation you will face. My Daily Devotional Volume Six July 16 Robert William Brock, Jr.
