My Book Of Life
My Book Of Life
"Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God."
3rd John 1:11
I have often thought about what it will be like to stand before God one day and be judged on what I have done. My book of life will be opened before Him, and He will read all the good and bad things I have done. Nothing will be concealed, as everything will there for Him to see. There will be countless pages of all my sins listed one by one, and I am sure these pages will far surpass all the pages that list the things I have done right, and things that God will be pleased with. When God gave me the gift of life, I was spotless, perfect, blameless, and precious in God's sight, but soon sin took control, and I became a sinner. Sin followed me through the majority of my life, until God gave me another gift, this time through His son Jesus, who died for me on the cross of Calvary, and took all my sins away, and washed me white as snow. I was perfect, spotless, and blameless again in the sight of God, as all my sin's were washed away by the blood of Jesus. When God looks at my book of life he will judge me as to how I have handled and managed this second chance. Have I been a good steward of it, or have I again let it be contaminated by sin? When Jesus gave me a second chance with His gift of salvation, did I follow Him, and let the Holy Spirit lead and guide me in my daily walk, or did I again revert back to following Satan, and let him control my life? This is what God will look at as I stand before Him. Once we have accepted our gift of salvation, God gives us warning that we must walk away from sin, and not let it be part of our life. I look forward to hearing God say, after He has reviewed my book of life, "Well done, good and faithful servant, come and share my happiness."
