When You Stand Before God

When You Stand Before God "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin." John 8:31 Have you ever thought about the gift God gave you, when he sent his son Jesus Christ to earth to die on the cross for your sins? If you could repay God for this gift of salvation, by giving Him a gift, what would you give him? Imagine yourself standing in front of God and presenting him with a beautiful wrapped box filled with what he got in return for having His son die for you. Would he open it and find it empty? Would your gift be a box full of empty promises that you made, but never kept? Would it be full of sins that you committed? Better still, would you be happy with your box, and pleased with what you gave God in return for Jesus dying for you? This is exactly what you will someday face, as you will be judged by God for your life here on this earth. Let me give you some suggestions to put in the box that you present to God. Let your box be full of love for God and thankfulness to Him for sending Jesus to save you. Have it full of the times you made him first in all things, not just the crumbs from your table. Have it full of prayers to Him, and all the times you spent reading your Bible and worshipping Him. Have it full of all the things you did to help and love others. You know God's greatest command is to love Him with all your heart, and to love others as you love yourself. Have it full of all the times you followed this great command. You cannot have your box full of sins, as when Jesus died to save you, he washed you clean of all your sins, and gave you the Holy Spirit to keep you safe and free from adding any more sins. As God opens your gift box, He needs to find it full of things worthy for Him sending Jesus to die for you. Start today getting your gift box together to give to God.
