Ask Jesus For Your Salvation
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Romans 10:13
We just returned home from the funeral of one of my cousins, who was only 59 years old, and was found dead in her bed. God had chosen this time for her to come home. This should remind us that none of us have the promise of tomorrow. It is so important to be prepared at any time, if God chooses to call us home. I have heard so many people tell me that they plan to start going to church next week, and will begin to read and study their Bibles, and become a better person. But so many of these people do not follow up on their plan to seek Jesus as their savior, and then find that it is too late. So often our plans are not God's plans, and putting off something as important as our salvation is the biggest mistake we will ever make. There is nothing more important, than to make sure that we have accepted Jesus as our savior, as when we make this simple choice, all our eternal future is assured. This present life can end at any time, as it did with my cousin, but our eternal life will last forever. All the struggles we have on earth can suddenly be over, and we can find ourselves standing before God, at His judgment throne. This kind of judgment can be frightening to anyone if they have not accepted Jesus, but can be something that we can look forward to with excitement, if we have asked Jesus into our hearts. It is such an easy decision to make, and yet so many people keep putting it off, "until it is too late". I would encourage anyone who is reading this devotional, to quietly ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins, and to be your Lord and Savior and guarantee your salvation and your eternal life.
