Dealing With Difficulties

Dealing With Difficulties

"And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast."
1st Peter 5:10

Today was a sad day in our family, as my daughter Pamela and her husband Tim, and their children, Brock and Elena lost their best friend, their buddy and their companion, as their dog Ghita passed away, due to complications from a minor surgery. I can remember going through the loss of my trusty companion, a black lab named Trajan, only last year, and the grief it can cause. Any time we lose something we love, it is difficult, as the memories of them linger with us, for months and years, after they are gone. The Bible tells us over and over, that during our lives, we are going to experience bad times, and that all of us will experience trials and troubles. There will be many times that will try us and test our faith. It is comforting to know, however, that this world is only temporary, and that one day it will pass away. When we have these kinds of situations arise in our lives, we can always look to God, to find comfort and solace. I believe God knows how we will suffer during these times, as He gives us many scriptures throughout the Bible. "Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you." 1st Peter 4:12 It is difficult to lose someone that we love, and we need to thank God for giving us our pets for just a short while, as they can bring much joy to our lives, but these instances should remind us, that this life is uncertain, and temporary, and that we need to be thankful for our moments of joy and realize, that God is in control.
