Let Your Light Shine
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house."
Matthew 5:14-15
Are you a light to the world? When you accepted Jesus as your savior, you became the light of the world for others to see and follow. Each of us have the opportunity to be the light for others, all throughout our lives. When we go to our place of employment, we have the opportunity to influence others, because of the light that Jesus placed in our hearts. When we go shopping, we have the opportunity to witness for Jesus by our actions and behavior. When we talk with our friends and neighbors, we have the opportunity to demonstrate the love of Jesus to them. Throughout our lives we have hundreds of occasions to let our lights shine out, and make an impact on the people we come into contact with. Jesus expects us to always be a witness for Him in everything that we do. Do the people you meet know that you are a Christian, and that Jesus is your savior, or do you keep your light hidden from them? During this time in our broken and immoral society, there is not a more important time to demonstrate to others that there is more to life, than what we see around us. Our society needs to see the light of Jesus now, more than they have in the history of our nation. I would encourage each of you to become the light, that can bring someone to Christ, by letting your light shine each day. Let your behavior and actions speak for you, and show others that Jesus is the light that you follow, and He can also become their light. Don't hide Jesus in your heart, but let Him shine brightly.
