Run Back To God

Run Back To God "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins, and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 When you asked Jesus into your heart you became a new being, a new creation. All your sins were forgiven and you now can start your life anew, with no blemish on your record It’s wonderful to know you’ve been set free from the law of sin and death. But what do you do when, in spite of those wonderful, glorious truths, you still miss the mark? What do you do when you stumble and fall into sin again? You first need to ask yourself this question. Did I truly ask Jesus to save me and ask Him into my heart? This is such an important question as so many think that they have truly asked Jesus into their heart, but never truly accepted Him. You may have gotten caught up in an inspirational moment and though you asked Him into your heart, but your life didn't change. When you truly ask Jesus to save you, you get the Holy Spirit to lead and guide your life. You are able to resist the temptations to sin. Instead of running to God again, we let fear and guilt drive us further and further from Him. We start thinking things like, “Well, I’ve missed it now. I might as well forget the rest of it and live like the devil.” Don’t make that mistake. Don’t let Satan talk you into sinning in one area of your life just because you missed it in another. When you get off track with God, just confess it and get right back on. God is waiting for you to accept His gift of salvation, however this time make it real and truly ask Jesus to come into your heart. God knew your heart before, and knows it now, and you can still make a new beginning. However make it real this time, Don’t run from God, run to Him. Receive His forgiveness. Receive His cleaning. No matter how badly you’ve sinned, He’s eager to forgive and to cleanse you of all unrighteousness. Robert W. Brock My Daily Devotional Volume Seven August 28
