God's Peace

God's Peace “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26 Do you feel in control of your life, and have an inner peace, that you are where you need to be? The above scripture gives each of us the assurance that God loves us. God had just given Moses the Ten Commandments, when this scripture was written. God will bless us and keep us in peace if we will obey Him, and trust Him for everything in our lives. It is only when we don't put our faith in Him, that we begin to lose our peace and blessings from God. His favor will be in our lives, when we do the things that are pleasing to Him, and when we obey His commandments. Even though the above scripture was directed at Moses and the Israelites, it applies so directly to our lives today. How many times do we make decisions, without asking God for His guidance? If we could only condition ourselves to ask Him to lead us and guide us, in making all of our decisions, and learn to rely upon the Bible and God's teachings in our daily lives, we would begin to understand that the Bible will help us do the right things in our lives each day. Even though the Bible was written many hundred years ago, it teaches each of us how we are to live our lives in today’s society. All the laws are still appropriate for us today. Each time I read the Bible I can find scriptures that apply to my life, and each time I am able to depend on the teachings and wisdom that I find. I find that reading God's scriptures helps me make the right decisions, and gives me the peace that God promises. When you turn your life over to God, He will bless you, and He will keep you, and His face will shine upon you, and He will give you peace. Obey God’s commands, and follow His teachings, and you will find that the above scripture will apply to you as well. Robert W. Brock My Daily Devotional Volume Seven December 29
