Stand Firm

Stand Firm

"If I sinned, you would be watching me and would not let my offense go unpunished."
Job 10:14

The story of Job is always the classic example of someone who persevered over the temptation of sin, and who held his ground despite being allowed to suffer tremendously by Satan. There is little doubt that Satan chose Job as the one to attack, because if Job denounced God and cursed Him, this would have a ripple effect on others. If Satan could bring down the most faithful man of God, it would cause many who were not as strong, to lose their faith, and fall as well. We are all going to face trials and tribulations during our lives, as Satan is going to come at us with everything he can muster to get us to sin. We may not all have the patience of Job to withstand Satan's onslaught, but we don't need to succumb easily to all the temptations either. Job, was willing to suffer like no man was willing to suffer during his day, as he was a true man of God, who had the faith and trust that God was there for him. The lesson we need to get from Job is that when we serve God, Satan is going to attack us, and we need to prepare ourselves for these attacks. When you are not worshipping God, you are not a threat, but when you begin to pray, read your Bibles and build a relationship with God, you become a target for Satan, as He wants to tear down this relationship. The further he can get you from God, the harder he can hit you, and the more chance he has of defeating you. If Satan is attacking you today, stand firm in your faith like Job did, don't give in to temptation, but get even closer to God, as He is the only one that can help you withstand Satan's attack.
