Your Great Commission

Your Great Commission

"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said, Here am I, send me."
Isaiah 6:8

This scripture was one where Isaiah was being commissioned by God, to go to the people of Israel and hold them accountable, because they had rebelled and turned from God. When God is searching in our society today for people to pray, and go out into our world and reach those who don't know Him, will he find you willing to go? A lot of Christians will say, "I'm too timid. I'm afraid of talking to others about Jesus." I believe that the real reason so many people don't respond to God's great commission, to reach out to the world and bring people to salvation, is that they really don't have a passion for bringing people to Jesus. All of these kinds of excuses is just a mask to hide the fact that they don't care. If people have a true passion to bring people to Jesus, they will work through any excuse or obstacle to be a witness. That is not to say that there aren't things we should learn so we can share our faith more effectively, but if the passion is really there, a Christian will go out and do something to overcome any excuse. The bottom line is that sharing our faith isn't really a big deal to most Christians, as they have a passion to share Jesus with unbelievers. If, however, you don't have this passion, you need to get a better relationship with God, so that you will get it. God wants you to be His ambassador, and is calling you to your great commission, just as He did Isaiah. You need to understand that you may make every mistake to be made, but it's better than not doing anything to reach others.
