Accountability To God

Accountability To God

"Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God."
Romans 3:19

At some point all of us are going to be held accountable for all our sins, but what if we were held accountable for them at the time we committed them? Just this afternoon, I witnessed a state patrol officer, with his radar gun, pulling out from a hidden position on the road, and stopping a speeding motorist in front of me. This was an instance of being held accountable immediately, for something that someone had done wrong. What if God also held us accountable for our sins the minute we committed them? Would we become less likely to sin? Would we tell a lie if the minute we told it God spoke to us and judged us? Would our thoughts be the same if the minute we had an evil thought, God was there reprimanding us for it? Would our actions be the same if we passed someone by who needed help, and God was there challenging us? Even though God does not appear in front of us, telling us every time we sin, don't think for a moment that God is not aware of each one of our sins. He is holding us personally accountable for each one of them. There is nothing that we do that escapes the watchful eye of God. He knows our thoughts, our actions and most of all our hearts, and even though He does not judge us each time we commit a sin, all of them will one day be laid at His feet, and we will be held accountable. Now is the time for you to think about your life, your thoughts, your actions, and most of all your hearts, as you will one day be held accountable for all your sins.
