Be God's Beacon
"Be very careful, then, how you live--not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil."
Ephesians 5:15-16
What is your passion in life? It may be sports, it could be music, it could be fishing or hunting, regardless of what you have a passion for, it shows in your daily life, and will quickly become evident to the people around you. As Christians, we need to have a passion for God, and anyone that comes into contact with us, should be able to see this passion demonstrated by our enthusiasm, peace and joy. I have seen so many so called Christians, walk around with a look on their face like they have just lost their best friend. They never smile, complain and grumble constantly, and never seem happy about anything. Then on Sunday morning at church, they are the most bubbly, happy, smiling, friendly and contented people you would ever want to meet. These are your "Sunday morning Christians", who only carry God in their hearts for a few hours each week. I believe that God expects us to carry Him with us all the time, not just on Sunday morning. We need to be very careful how we live, as the above scripture states, and make the most of every opportunity, to demonstrate to others the presence of God in our lives. No one is going to be drawn to someone who is unhappy, complaining, never smiling and looking like they have lost their best friend. This does not show our passion for God. Our passion for our Lord and Savior needs to shine through in every aspect of our life, all during the day. We need to be the beacon of light that draws people to want to be like us, and want what we have. Renew your passion for God today, and be His beacon.
