Do Not Fear
"Say to those with fearful hearts, Be Strong do not fear."
Isaiah 35:4
There seems to be mounting fear in our world today. News about the economy, the war, the credit crisis, job losses, and a host of other things seem to threaten the stability and peace in life we all desire. When Jesus made the statement to His disciples, when the storm came on the boat, "Why are you so fearful", He was addressing a spiritual problem in them. If they overcame this weakness, it would serve them better in the future. Perhaps we should focus on this lesson for ourselves in these uncertain times. The absence of faith, causes fear. With faith, there is no fear. According to the Bible, fear causes "torment" in our mind by distorting the truth about God's promise to care for us in our times of real crisis. Fear is the enemy of the child of God, and must be overcome consistently in life. Faith is the answer to overcoming fear. Your faith in God will develop as you yield to Him, do His will, and begin to establish a closer relationship with Him. The Bible says, "Faith come by hearing the Word of God." As you develop your relationship with God, your faith will grow, as you begin to depend upon Him for all things. When God is in control of all things, your faith will grow exponentially, and your fear will diminish. When you begin to walk in faith, and place all your cares on the shoulders of God, your fear will vanish. When you embrace fully the life of faith that God intends all of His children to walk in, you will enjoy the richness of life that God meant for you. Establish a closer relationship with God today, and let Him take away all your fears.
