Don't Let Sin Control You

Don't Let Sin Control You

"For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace."
Romans 6:14

The devil will do his best to convince you that sin has control of you, and that no matter what you do you will not be able to control it. If you are struggling with any kind of addiction such as drugs, alcohol, sexual, gambling or any other addiction, Satan will temp you anyway he can to continue your habit. The people you run around with, your co-workers, your school mates or even others in your family may be contributing to your addiction. We have a relative that had struggled with drug addiction for many years, and told us that when he tried to clean up his act, and get clean from drugs, that every where he looked he was tempted. This is Satan at his best, as he does not want you to be free of your addiction, but wants you to become his slave, where he will be in control of your life. However, you have a choice, which only you can make, and that choice is that you can turn your life over to God, who will forgive you of your addiction, which is a sin, and then He will take control of your life. When you choose to ask Jesus into your heart, you will be immediately convicted when you are tempted or start to sin. You will find that when you are a real follower of Christ, that when the urge to revert back to your sinful habit emerges, you will be convicted by the silent tug on your conscience, that you are no longer a child of the devil, but a follower of God. This quiet voice is a reminder that you belong to the Lord. You may have to make some life style changes, such as your friends, and places you go, but God will direct you, as sin will not be your master, God will be.
