God Knows All Things

God Knows All Things

"Because the hand of the Lord my God was on me, I took courage.."
Ezra 7:28

Just recently I received an e-mail from one of my readers asking for prayer for his daughter who had just run away from home. One of the most difficult things a parent can experience is having one of their children leave home, and not know how to deal with this situation. Not knowing where their children will be staying, or if they will have food to eat, or even knowing where they are, can be frightening to any parent. Just knowing all the danger that is out there in the world, a parent can imagine all the worst things happening to their child. The thing that we need to understand when these kinds of situations arise in our lives, is to remember that God is still in control, and knows what is happening. We cannot help but to be concerned and worried, but often times we just need to trust in God that everything will work out, as this is part of His great plan. We see the story of the Prodigal Son who left home, and after spending much time apart from his family, returned home and was reunited with his father, who welcomed him home with loving arms. We don't realize what God has planned for each of us, but we do know that He is aware of all things and all circumstances, and in His great plan for us will work all things for the good. We have to continue to trust and have faith, and just like the scripture above says, "the hand of the Lord my God was on me." Events like this can test and try our faith in God, as Satan will place trials in our way, but when we understand that God is still in control and will work things to His good, we can be at peace.
